2008 Report

Winners of 2008 Region 3 Final  : Leicestershire

Here is quick resume of the 2008 East Midlands Regional Championship. 

Venue: Foremark Reservoir (fished to a six fish limit + time bonus)

Date: 11th September 2008

Result: Team Event (only top four bags from each team of eight count for team event)

1st Leicestershire 24 fish 55lb 4oz

2nd Northamptonshire 16 fish 41lb 4oz

3rd Nottinghamshire 19 fish 40lb 1oz

4th Derbyshire 17 fish 38lb 13oz

5th Lincolnshire 8 fish 13lb 14oz

Leicestershire will represent the East Midlands Region at the Nationals 2009, Chew Valley.

Individuals Champions               

1st Dave Summers - Leicestershire 15lb 11oz :)

2nd Gareth Brooks  - Leicestershire 15lb 7oz

Dave and Gareth will be attending the Nationals to take part in the Individual Event as well as Leicestershire in the Team Event. Dave and Gareth will also be representing the East Midlands Region as part of the England team in the 2009 International at Llandegfedd.

Best fish of the event went to Gary Mann of Derbyshire with a rainbow of 4lb 7oz. Gary also took third individual place in the competition and was 'paired' for the event with the eventual winner, Dave Summers from Leicestershire.

2009 East Midlands Regional Championship.

Leicestershire will be hosting this event, on Thursday 21^st May at Rutland Water.
