Welsh report 2010

The 2010 regional were held at Llandegfedd reservoir, Gwent, hosted by South Wales Police on Thursday the 28th of April.

On the morning of the event the anglers present, representing all Welsh police forces were asked to vote for the setting up of a new association.

There was a positive show of hands in favour of the new association, which will represent all Welsh police anglers’ interests.

The flotilla of boats left the pontoon and headed North to the far end of the lake, where good catches had been reported during the practice day.

The event was fished to a six fish limit and time bonus thereafter.

29 anglers caught 96 fish in total.

North Wales team of 8 recorded 34 fish, Gwent team of 8 29, South Wales team of 10 26 and Dyfed Powys team of 3, 7.

North Wales ‘A’ won the team of 4 event with 18 fish.

Top rod, finishing at 13:10 Hrs was Simon Davies, North Wales with Brian Owen, North Wales being runner up.

North Wales, which will include Simon and Brian will represent the welsh region at the 2011 National to be held at Bewl water in June.

Proceeds from the event were donated to ‘Help the Heroes’.

The Welsh National Championship 2011 will take place in Trawsfynydd Reservoir on Thursday the 19th May
