The Welsh National Championships 2009
This year's Welsh regional was fished at Llyn Brenig on Thursday the 23 of April. North Wales were the only force able to field a full side of 12 anglers.
The lake produced plenty of sport in relation to fish numbers, unfortunately the majority of fish were undersize, and all anglers had to return small fish.
The match was fished to a 4 fish limit C+R thereafter.
30 anglers caught 41 sizable fish.
Top rod was Graham Anthony of South Wales with 8 fish, Bernie Thomas of North Wales was runner up. Both will fish as individuals in next years national.
South Wales won the team of four with 9 fish; they will represent our region in next years national.
Best fish of the day went to Glyn Jones of Dyfed Powys a Rainbow of 2lb 13oz.
The Welsh National Championship 2010 will take place in Llandegfedd Reservoir on Thursday the 29th April.Previous page: Wales
